Open Office truly comes to OS X: speaking of good byes

I just created a word processing document in Open Office 3, saved it in MS Word (dot doc) format and sent it off to the person who's going to handle formatting and whatnot. It's still a beta but I can now see the day when I can delete that monstrosity that is MS Office from my hard disk.

Okay, it's still in beta. And it's a behemoth too. But it's not Microsoft and I swear it seems faster.

It's been available for OS X for some time but it's always run within an X11 window, which in my opinion is yucky and offers up an inconsistent interface which I could never stand. The 3.0 beta is an Aqua application which means it behaves just  like any other Mac OS X application.

Flower one - purely decorative Flower two - more eye candy Sigh. Flower three. Nothing to do here folks All these PNGs sure are good to have, eh? Now that MSIE might soon understand them
How much eye candy can one page endure
